Home for the Holidays: Pet Adoption Event

(WTNH) - Adopting a pet into your home is just like gaining a new family member. The Connecticut Humane Society leads the state of Connecticut in their work for animal welfare, adoption services, medical care, and education and prevention cruelty.

The Connecticut Humane Society was founded in 1881 by Hartford High School senior, Gertrude O. Lewis. It has been saving pets' lives ever since that time. The organization currently takes in over 6,000 pets per year for adoption into new homes. Programs also include dog training, public veterinary hospital, pet food pantry, pet intake services and much more.

Send these pets home for the holidays and adopt a very companion for a lifetime. Starting tomorrow, December 17 through December 24th the Connecticut Humane Society will take off $50 from the adoption fee for pet adoptions (some exceptions apply).  The regular services, including vaccinations and surgeries will still be provided.
