New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - With a spring season that included snow in April and tremendous amounts of rain, will the Connecticut summer be warm and inviting, or will severe weather strike once again? Storm Team 8 takes a closer look at that question in part four of News 8’s weather mini-series, Connecticut Weather: On the Edge, airing Friday, May 20th, at 11:20pm on News 8.
This installment of Connecticut Weather: On the Edge explores the extreme weather summer often brings. The meteorologists of Storm Team 8 explain what we could expect this year, from hurricanes and tornados to floods and brushfires. The special also discusses high temperatures and poor air quality, which can both pose serious health risks during the summer months.
This episode of Connecticut Weather: On the Edge includes a detailed account of some of the deadliest storms to ever hit our shores. Dr. Mel takes us back in time to the hurricanes of 1955, which are considered to be the costliest natural disaster in state history.
Connecticut Weather: On the Edge is a four part mini-series explaining our state’s weather. Throughout the series, Storm Team 8 meteorologists, Dr. Mel Goldstein, Gil Simmons, Steve MacLaughlin, Steve Villanueva, and Erica Grow discuss the extreme variations in our state’s weather.
Part four of Connecticut Weather: On the Edge will air at 11:20pm on Friday, May20th on News 8. This series, hosted by News 8’s Darren Kramer, features the expertise of News 8’s team of meteorologists, Storm Team 8.
