New Haven Magnet Schools

The New Haven Magnet Schools, pre-school through high school, are open to all residents of New Haven and "Interdistrict" magnet schools  are open to all residents of Connecticut.   Tuition and transportation (for a list of towns where transportation is available visit here) are free of cost as well as preschool for 3 & 4 year olds.  Parents must apply to send their children to New Haven Magnet schools, yet acceptance is based on a lottery system with the only preferences  given being neighborhood and sibling.  

The mission of the New Haven Magnet schools'  are  to "provide effective and innovative educational practices" as well as "foster student enrollment patterns that reflect racial, ethnic and economic diversity ." The academics are rigorous yet students are also allowed to explore their own interests in a manner that is not commonly seen in standard public education.

Wednesday, January 9th

Interdistrict Magnet Fair
For all CT suburban residents
Saturday, January 12th
12-2pm
Hill Regional Career High School
140 Legion Ave., New Haven
