Time to get your sneakers ready

(WTNH) - (WTNH) --  More than 6,000 people in Connecticut have Multiple Sclerosis and each year people come together to raise money and awareness in the fight against the disease.

It's time to get your sneakers ready for the Annual Travelers Walk MS happening on Sunday, April 22.

Walk MS is the biggest fundraising event of the year for the Connecticut chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and with 12 walk sites throughout the state, there's at least one close to you.

News 8's own Darren Kramer will be the Grand Marshal for Walk MS in West Hartford, and Storm Team 8's Gil Simmons will lead off the walk in West Haven. Both Darren and Gil have been dedicated supporters of the MS Society for many years.

You can register for Walk MS online , as an individual walker or as part of a team.
