Middletown (WTNH) - A Middletown couple recently doubled the size of their family all in one day and now they want others to know the joys of adoption.
A year ago, the Brown's Middletown backyard was a lot quieter. There were no laughing little girls and no playful puppy.
Bob and Judy Brown are just half of the Brown Family.
"We both met each other late in life, and we both wanted to have children," Bob said.
So they started as foster parents for Alexandra and learned her older sister Victoria was living elsewhere and also needed a home. The Browns reunited the girls and adopted them this month.
"We just determined that there are a lot of kids out there that need a place, and families to love them and want to be with them," Bob said.
Something these young girls do not take for granted.
"It's nice. I just like living in the same house," said 9-year old Victoria.
There's no question, the girls are special but their new mom and dad have worked to make life ordinary.
I have to clean up all the time. Chores! I do clean up in my room, sweep the floor, mop the floor when there's mud over there," Victoria said.
It's exactly the everyday family life that Bob and Judy Brown recommend to anybody considering adoption.
"Every day I wake up now, after having both of those girls here for a year, and I can't even imagine my life without them," Judy said.
