(WTNH) - Most weeks in Wednesday's Child we show you how you can help put a smile on the face of a child looking for a family.

Well, this week News 8's Ted Koppy wants you to meet Adam. He’s bound to put a smile on yours.

At first -- with all of the laughs -- I thought that Adam was just nervous about being in front of our camera, or maybe exuberant about getting his own Bear from Build A Bear at West Farms Mall.

But Adam's social worker says -- camera or no camera; bear or no bear -- this is the way he is!

"He just likes to have fun,” said Leslie Spencer. “Adam makes the smallest mundane things interesting and fun all day every day."

Adam loves to dress things up. Stuffed animals are great, but he also likes real animals. He also likes to color, read, play outside and he does spend some time thinking about the kind of family he'd like to find.

"If they had a dog, and cats, and a sister -- two sisters -- a dad and a mom,” Adam explained.

What he needs from that family is some attention, patience and, of course, love. What you'll get in return is a house full of energy, happiness, and a lot of laughs. And it could be good for your self esteem.

"Adam's very insightful and he loves to compliment you on your clothing, your shoes,” Adam’s Leslie continued. “He lets you know that you're driving well.”

So if you have room in your car for that kind of back-seat driver and room in your heart for a boy as special as Adam, you should give DCF a call at 800-842-6348.
