(WTNH) - This week's Wednesday's Child got a chance to spend the afternoon with some of the guys from the Yale football team.
Paul Rice, Travis Henry, and John Sheffield, three Yale football players, understand that football can be a metaphor for life, especially for a kid like Kenny who is looking for a home where he'll fit in. The seniors took time on a rainy afternoon to toss the ball around with Kenny.
"I like to go outside, play with my friends, play football with them," Kenny said.
Kenny likes to stay busy, but his social worker says athletics are not the only thing that defines him. He's warm, caring, easygoing and resilient. He also has a vision of life with a family.
"Someone who does stuff with me, a dad or a mom, stay up late with them, watch something with them, watch a movie, laugh with them, tell jokes with them," Kenny said.
Kenny says he'd like to maybe pursue a career in the military as an engineer, or maybe work for the Secret Service.
"I like gym, I like Math. Math is probably one of the best subjects I like," he said.
