(WTNH) - He's got a magnetic personality and an easy smile, and he's not just smiling because he got to spend a day at Coco Key Water Park in Waterbury.

Those who know Alex say he's like this all the time.

"Alex has a great personality. He is funny, he has a good sense of humor, he's caring, he really cares about other people. He's a real sweetheart, and smart to boot," said Shannon Dicks, Alex's Social Worker.

Alex has made a splash with the people who work with, and take care of him, and they're hoping he can do the same with you.

Alex says, if possible, he'd like to find a hispanic family, and if they can teach him to speak Spanish, that would be a bonus. More important; Alex is looking for an active family, one that likes to get out and do a lot, because there's a lot Alex likes to do.

"I like to play sports, I like math, I like to read, and I love to play outside," Alex said.

He also likes to watch movies, play games... he's basically up for anything. Living in the facility he's in now is holding him back, and he needs a family to help change that.

"He's really limited in the things he can do with us, in terms of going out in the community. In a family he'd be able to go to friends' houses, go to birthday parties, go to see a movie with his friends and their parents, and he's not able to do that stuff with us," said Dicks.

Ordinary stuff, that would easily top a day at the water park for Alex.
