5th annual Baby Fair

(WTNH) - Join Griffin Hospital for their 5th annual Baby Fair!

The Baby Fair is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th. Prespective parents can go to Griffin Hospital's Childbirth Center and learn about their family-centered model of care, which includes childbirth preparation classes, breast feeding support groups and mom-to-mom groups.

The May 5th Baby Fair is a free event that features more than 40 exhibitors and door prizes.

Special guests include Jennifer Matranga, RN, CCE, IBCLC, a maternal child health educator, and Michelle McGuire, RN, BSN, IBCLC, a lactation consultant, who will speak about the Planetree family-centered model of care in the Childbirth Center, and the fact that the hospital is seeking to become Baby Friendly certified.

Griffin Hospital offers family-centered maternity care in an environment to best meet individual and family needs with private, family-friendly rooms, expert staff for maternal and newborn care, and lactation consultants.

Griffin's Childbirth Center delivers approximately 650 babies each year, and its more intimate size and healing environment helps create a more personalized childbirth experience. The hospital features include a jacuzzi for moms to use while in labor and free post-partum follow up visits for mom and baby.
