New Haven (WTNH) - Ultraviolet radiation breaks down the skin's connective tissue - collagen and elastin fibers - which lie in the deeper layer of skin. Without the supportive connective tissue, the skin loses its strength and flexibility. This condition, known as solar elastosis, is characterized by vertical creases, deep wrinkles, and loose or sagging skin.
What you see isn’t always what you get, at least when it comes to your skin. The Reveal™ Complexion Analysis System allows us to see sun damage, enlarged pores, bacteria and vascular irregularities that are invisible to the naked eye so that we may design a customized skincare program to address your individual needs.
We capture photographs of sun damage and skin issues that are
invisible to the naked eye. The results, which aren't always
pretty, are a good indication of how skin will eventually show the
signs of aging. Using multi-spectral digital analysis, the system
enables us to design customized rejuvenation and skincare programs
to more accurately and effectively address complexion issues. The
imaging system is then used to monitor the effectiveness of skin
treatments and regimens over time, so that clients can actually
track the changes in their skin by more than what they see in the
mirror.
How it works:
A quick and painless process, it simply involves taking your picture from the front and side. The digital image is recorded under natural as well as ultra-violet light. The image is then analyzed using an advanced computer program first developed by Proctor & Gamble as a skincare research tool. The images and analysis are stored in a secure hard drive where they can be accessed as needed for comparison. Members receive the printed report, complete with full-color images and Reveal's recommendations for rejuvenation and ongoing skincare.
