(WTNH) - Professional make-up artist DD Nickel joined Connecticut Style with some summer make-up tips.
Primer: It helps prevent oiliness and keeps makeup looking fresh in the heat
Tinted moisturizer: Lightweight and most formulas have SPF so it does double duty as sunscreen, foundation and moisturizer. Some formulas are also waterproof so good if you play tennis, swim, etc.
Bronzer: gives you a healthy glow, especially if you don't spend time in the sun. Watch out for formulas that are too orange or shimmery. You can also use a powder that's two shades darker than your skintone for a more natural look. Make sure to use bronzer on your neck first, and then temples, cheeks and nose.
Gel liners: They are waterproof and smudgeproof. You can use them like a pencil for a smudged look or like a liquid liner for a more defined look. Pencils can warm up in the heat and may not stay where you put them.
Lip stains: They are also smudgeproof and long lasting. Use a shimmery gloss on top for a fresh, summery look. Peaches and corals are great shades for everyone.
