    (WTNH) - When Dodie began writing Penelope's cruise, she had also started volunteering at a local organization. As both projects progressed, they started to merge in Dodie's head and it occurred to her that she could use the book to raise money for charity.

    From there, Dodie launched her own company, To Give Is Divine, Ltd., in order to help Americans in need, with a focus on food banks, homeless shelters and children at risk.
