New Haven (WTNH) - Local talent needed for the American Girl Fashion Show.
The American Girl Fashion Show is a fun-filled event for girls, their families, friends and favorite dolls! The fashion show is a partnership between the American Girl Foundation and The James Blackstone Memorial Library to benefit the library's many literacy programs. Four fashion shows will be held over the weekend of October 17-18, 2009 at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale. The fashion shows are open to everyone and will feature local girls modeling American Girl fashions with American Girl Dolls.
The show includes refreshments, a fashion show of historical dolls/costumes, an intermission and a fashion show of modern dolls/costumes. At the intermission, there will be a raffle, an opportunity to have photos taken with your doll, displays of American Girl items and an opportunity to purchase American Girl souvenirs. Each child also receives a goodie bag from American Girl to take home. Girls are encouraged to bring their own American Girl dolls and to dress up to their heart's desire.
Girls and their mothers, aunts, grandmothers and friends are encouraged to attend this celebration of American girls. For maximum enjoyment of the audience, American Girl recommends that attendees be at least 6 years of age.
Tickets will be available beginning in September. Purchases may be made through the Blackstone Library at (203) 488-1441 (x313) or through the website at www.uwgnh.org/americangirl.
