The Reading Room is a small non-profit organization, based in South Windsor, that supports literacy in poor communities in Haiti. The Reading Room works with several schools in Haiti, including three in Port-au-Prince. They provide classroom libraries in French, teaching aids and school supplies such as pencils, pens, rulers, crayons, chalk, calculators, backpacks, vitamins, toothpaste & toothbrushes and other items.

The Reading Room is not a relief organization, but they do help schools when a crisis hits. They are currently providing aid to the schools following the earthquake.
