(WTNH) - Coquito is an eggnog-like alcoholic beverage traditionally served in Puerto Rico. It can be made with egg yolks, rum, coconut milk, coconut cream, condensed milk and spices. But many families have secret recipes handed down from generation to generation. These recipes are guarded safely and the cause for great competition to see who makes it the best. The drink is commonly associated with the Christmas holidays, where it is traditionally served along with other holiday food and to visiting guests.
Flan is a traditional Latin custard dessert served throughout the year but very popular at Christmas and accompanies Coquito perfectly.
