(WTNH) -- CT RollerGirls Roller Derby will be hosting the exclusive Connecticut screening of a new roller derby documentary "Derby, Baby!", a film by Emmy Award-winning filmmakers Robin Bond and Dave Wruck, narrated by actress Juliette Lewis.
CT RollerGirls, Inc. is Connecticut’s first all-female flat track roller derby league. Established in March, 2006, they are proud to represent Connecticut as part of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association in local, regional, national, and worldwide competitions.
Roller derby is the fastest growing sport in the world. The modern resurgence started as a women's sport, but has expanded to include men, however largely still remains very women-centric, providing opportunities for women and girls in athletics, leadership, and community.
Derby is known for its irreverent and accepting culture, welcoming all types of athletes. Leagues are run by the skaters, for the skaters. Being strong, healthy, diverse female/woman role models is an important aspect of the worldwide community.
For tickets to the September 14 screening or "Derby, Baby!" visit www.ctrollerderby.com
We want you to be a part of Good Morning Connecticut. Send us a video greeting!
