(WTNH) -- Join the Pontelandolfo Community Club as they celebrate the Festa di San Donto.
The festival includes raffles, music, soccer, mass, Italian-style fireworks, fantastic food and much more. It runs from Thursday, August 2 to Sunday, August 5th.
The Pontelandolfo Community Club is an Italian community club which began in a small rented space in north end of Waterbury in the 1930s.
Immigrants met to play cards and socialize with people from their hometown. They also tried to find work and help each other go forward in this new country. There were many language and housing barriers.
The club became a sports club for soccer after purchasing and building new facility in the 1960s.
Join them the first Monday of every month for dinner. For $25 you get full course dinner and wine.
