Apex International Education Partners ( www.aiepusa.com ) works to place international students with host families here in Connecticut. Their goal is to promote greater diversity in U.S. high schools, facilitate cultural awareness amongst American students and ease the process of living and learning abroad. The majority of the students in their program are in the 7-10 th grade range with a goal of improving their English skills and eventually attending college in the U.S.
David Guerrera, Co-Founder and Director of AIEP ( www.aiepusa.com ), was in the studio with Ted Huang a host student, and Patti Voghel his host mother, to give voice to the experiences they have shared so far this year.
AIEP has seen an increase in the number of students coming from China to study in American High Schools and would like to find more families that would be willing to host an international student this upcoming fall semester. If you would like more information on how you can become a host family, contact AIEP today.
