Ned Handy, President, Citizens Bank, Connecticut stops by CT Style to ‘call for applications’ for the July-December 2013
Champions in Action . This years topic will be Arts and Culture.
To be eligible for consideration, an organization must:
• Be a Connecticut-based nonprofit organization that serves Connecticut and addresses the designated social concern;
• Provide verification of tax-exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code; and
• Have a total operating budget of $5 million or less.
For this years topic, they are looking for non-profit organizations whose mission is to show case Connecticut’s diverse communities and its expression of the arts across our State. Connecticut has so much to offer in this area and they believe there are many outstanding organizations that are ‘Champions’ in this category. In many ways, arts and culture is an economic engine in CT that provides amazing opportunities for local businesses and non-profits and they encourage non-profit applicants to tell their story in a meaningful and impactful way that goes beyond the statistics and data. This years committee wants to hear the ‘human’ side of their organization – how their programs changed lives, the needs of clients and how they plan to expand their organization.
