Published : Friday, 30 Nov 2012, 5:45 PM EST

It’s another Firehouse Friday featuring two Hamden Firefighters showing Teresa how to make their quick and easy Firehouse Meatloaf.  In addition to putting out blazes and saving lives, these guys know how to turn up the heat in the kitchen!

Firehouse Meatloaf:

1 ½ lbs ground beef (85/15)

¾ sleeve of Ritz crackers (crush into crumbs)

1½ cup ketchup (divided)

1 can crushed pineapple

½ cup water

2 eggs

Dash of black pepper

Dash of salt

½ cup minced raw onion

Teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce

Mix together in large bowl.  Place on sheet pan and form into a loaf shape.  Bake for approx. 40 minutes at 375 degrees.  10 minutes prior to end of baking time, mix 1 cup of ketchup with 1 can of crushed pineapple. Warm in a pan on stove over medium heat, whisk together until sauce thickens. Spread ketchup/pineapple sauce on top of meatloaf; increase heat to 425 degrees, bake an additional 20-25 minutes
