At Citizens Bank, believes good banking is good citizenship which is why they have partnered with Market New Haven for
New Haven Restaurant Week 2012 for the second year in a row. This partnership is expected to bring more than 25,000 diners downtown to experience the culinary talents of more than 40 restaurants and chefs. The six day event offers diners significant savings at local restaurants, offering prix fixe, three-course lunch and dinner menus comprised of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Lunch will cost $18 and dinner will cost $32.
In addition to boosting business and exposing area residents to the jewels of New Haven, this event also helps to raise much needed funds for the CT Food Bank. At each participating restaurant, diners are encouraged to make a one dollar donation to the Connecticut Food Bank, where one dollar feeds one person for an entire day and allows the Food Bank to distribute $5 worth of food at wholesale value. Last year, more than $13,000 was raised throughout the week in support of the Food Bank’s “Thanksgiving for All” campaign.
This year’s Fall New Haven Restaurant Week will take place November 11 through 16th. In addition to partnering with restaurants to collect monetary donations for the Food Bank, New Haven Restaurant Week will also collect non-perishable goods at Elm City Market, Union Station and at Citizens Bank’s 209 Church Street branch now through November 29th.
