Tamara Petro ( www.therawnaissance.com ) joins Teresa in the kitchen to talk about the benefits of organic and raw foods and Tamara shows us her recipe for a 'Clean, Green, New Year Smoothie'.
Clean, Green New Year Smoothie
Using all organic ingredients is preferable, but any produce is better than none!
2 Cups chopped or torn kale (any kind
1 ¼ Cups blueberries
1 fresh or frozen banana
1 orange, peeled
¾ cup water or adjust for thickness
1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
Optional: 1 tsp coconut oil
Dash of powdered cinnamon, cayenne pepper or ½ inch knob of fresh ginger for a “zing”!
Blend all ingredients, drink immediately. If storing for use later in day, be sure to keep refrigerated and shake well.
