New Haven (WTNH) - There are many medical conditions that a healthy diet can address and improve, including diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure.

Lisa Corrado has helped many clients with these conditions, especially losing weight, decreasing total cholesterol, increasing ‘good’ cholesterol, decreasing blood pressure, and sustaining a healthy pregnancy.

Blueberries with Almond Cream
Serves 4

2 c. fresh blueberries
1/2 c. reduced fat cream cheese
1 tbsp. fat free milk
1 tbsp powdered sugar
1/4 tsp almond extract
2 tbsp toasted sliced almonds

Divide the blueberries among four dessert dishes. Using electric beater, cream together cream cheese, milk, and sugar until smooth. Add the extract and mix add'l 10 seconds. Fold in the almonds. Place a dollop of mixture on top of blueberries.

Cool Melon Soup
Serves 4

2 c. chopped cantaloupe
1/4 c. fresh orange juice
1 c. plain nonfat yogurt
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. minced fresh mint
1 tsp. Grand Marnier (optional)

In a blender combine 1 c. of cantaloupe with the remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth, about one minute. Fold in the remaining chopped cantaloupe and chill for at least two hours. Serve in soup bowls or the hollowed out cantaloupe halves.
