Dr. T. Charles Brantley was in the studio discussing the impact of menopause on marriage. It’s tempting for a woman to allow her body, and all the changes it goes through during menopause, to dictate the terms of intimacy of her relationship, but TC stresses the importance for women to not fall victim to this trend. In marriage, you must continue to work on it, to foster intimacy, even when we don’t necessary feel like it.
Relationships and marriages fail because couples stop doing all the little things that made them fall in love in the first place. They stop going on dates, they stop complimenting each other, they stop calling “just because”… These are all things that every couple needs to do throughout their relationship.
Dr. T. Charles Brantley reminds us that a strong marriage requires constant tending, because anything worth having, is worth working at. For more information on any of Dr. Brantley’s books, seminars or counseling, visit: www.rest.org .
