(WTNH) - Local student Liane Membis represents Connecticut in the Miss Black America pageant.
Membis was not involved in pageants when she was younger. She enrolled in her first when she was a sophomore at Yale. Her talent was supposed to be fire-breathing, but the Fire Marshal wouldn't allow her to.
