Neighborhood Housing Services

(WTNH) - Since its inception in 1979, Neighborhood Housing Services has become the leading nonprofit provider of affordable homeownership services in the Greater New Haven area. The NHS mission is to increase homeownership; to make homes functional, beautiful, green, and affordable; and to help residents take charge of their neighborhoods. In 2001 NHS opened the New Haven HomeOwnership Center, which provides homebuyer education and financial assistance to individuals and families who are purchasing and rehabilitating homes in the City of New Haven. The HomeOwnership Center is now the leading provider of foreclosure intervention services in Connecticut.
