Neighborhood Music School turns 100

(WTNH) - Neighborhood Music School celebrates their 100 year anniversary.
They are holding a Centennial Ball on Sat. December 3 at 6pm at the New Haven Lawn Club, which is a fundraiser for NMS financial aid and scholarship programs.
NMS is a non-profit community resource for children & adults. They offer lessons and classes for beginners as well as advanced musicians. Programs Include dance classes and an arts- based preschool as well as "Vintage-Voices" for seniors.
During its centennial year, NMS plans to focus its efforts on expanding financial aid programming, as well as programs for seniors and students with special needs.
The NMS financial aid/scholarship program awards more than $225,000 in tuition assistance to approximately 350 students each year.
