Sea Tow: The AAA of the waterway

Published : Tuesday, 05 Jun 2012, 2:13 PM EDT

(WTNH) - Sea Tow provides assistance to CT boaters.

Sea Tow is the AAA of the waterway. Tehy provide priority service for members including free towing back to their homeport, jump starts, fuel drops for a low annual fee of $169.00.

There are three franchised Sea Tow areas in Connecticut, and they have boats in Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Branford, Westbrook, Old Saybrook North, Old Saybrook South, Chester, Niantic, Noank and Mystic.

99% of Sea Tow members received service in less than 1 hour. They have serviced more than 25,000 Connecticut Boaters in distress since 1988. Some people think they have Sea Tow if they have some form of "Insurance" with their boat policy but you don't have Sea Tow unless you have one of our Famous Sea Tow Gold Cards.

They just launched their Free Sea Tow Boaters App after 18 months in development. It features emergency calling directly to Coast Guard or 911, non emergency calling to our 24 hour dispatch center, follow me tides, follow me weather, a built in compass and gps, and it's free!

Sea Tow also provides salvage services that include removing vessels from reefs, saving vessels that are sinking, raising sunken vessels or removing vessels from the shoreline after a storm.
