(WTNH) - The Amistad Center whips up a soulful dish in the kitchen.
The Amistad Center for Art & Culture's announces "A Taste of History" event on Feb. 27, which kicks off the Amistad Center's silver (25th) anniversary with events and activities while commemorating Black History Month 2012.
The Amistad Center for Art & Culture is a not-for-profit cultural institution that celebrates art and culture influenced by people of African descent, through education, scholarship and social experiences. It is housed within the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, however it is an independently incorporated 501 (c)(3) organization.
Founded in 1987, The Amistad Center owns an important collection of more than 6,000 objects. Proceeds from A Taste of History will support The Amistad Center's art exhibitions, collection development, culture-based education programs, and operations.
