(WTNH) - "Tapography: a Tap Dancers Journey" is a benefit show celebrating National Tap Dance Day and benefiting The Plano family from North Branford.
Open Your Heart, Inc is a 501c3 non profit organization that help people who are struggling due to unforeseen circumstances.
Twins Luca & Matteo were born prematurely in August 2009 and have had multiple medical problems. Open Your Heart is hosting this event to raise funds to help cover some of the cost of medical treatments.
Tapography is directed by local choreographer/performer Alicia Monaco and her group Tap Into the Soul. The members perform in various shows in New York City and throughout the United States.
The show will feature tap students from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut & Massachusetts and range in age from 7 years old to 90 years old. Tributes to Tap Masters Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, Gene Kelly, Gregory Hines and more will be performed by Tap Into the Soul and Germaine Salsberg's Les Femmes Plus. There will also be master classes for local students.
