(WTNH) - The New Dirty performs on Stage 8
The New Dirty was formed in 2010 with the intention of making simple, loud and original rock by bringing rock back to its “basics. ” The New Dirty takes its influence from jazz, blues, and rock from the late 60’s, early 70’s and the 90’s.
Since January The New Dirty has been playing live shows in and around the New Haven area.
Last month The New Dirty placed into the Global Voting Round for Hard Rock Café’s International Battle of the Bands (BOTBs), Hard Rock Rising. To get to this stage, they surpassed tens of thousands of bands through regional voting and then by a series of live performances at Hard Rock Café Foxwoods, where The New Dirty was selected by a panel of music industry judges. If they place in the top ten in this round they will move onto the Global Finals, where a judging panel will select the final winner. The grand prize is $10,000 and a performance at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park, London, UK, where Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Soundgarden, Train and many other bands will headline.
Voting for Hard Rock Rising BOTBs will end on 4/24 at 11:59 EST. If you would like to vote you can visit thenewdirty.com and click on the purple box voting link. You do need a facebook account to vote.
In addition to the voting, The New Dirty will be performing at Christies in New Haven on April 28th and will continue to regularly play shows around the New Haven area and will hopefully soon be booking shows in Fairfield County and New York City.
This summer The New Dirty will be releasing their first seven “Mastered Tracks,” produced by Nick Belmore at Dexter’s Laboratory. All songs will be available free for download upon the release. If anyone would like to join the mailing list for the free downloads they can do so by clicking the “Mailing List” link on thenewdirty.com or by emailing thenewdirty@gmail.com with the subject HUMANS.
