Vibraphonist Jay Hoggard, Adjunct Professor of Music at Wesleyan University, has released a new holiday album, entitled "Christmas Vibes All Thru The Year", featuring a trio with James Weidman on organ and piano, and Bruce Cox on drums. This new CD features many traditional hits as well as a few original Christmas songs by Mr. Hoggard.
"This album is about the joy, peace, love, and happiness that should traverse the world during the holiday seasons, and throughout the whole year," said Mr. Hoggard. "I have experienced great joy and upliftment from hundreds of holiday recordings, and it is a dream fulfilled to offer my take on some of this repertoire, as well as a few of my original compositions. I was inspired by so many artists for this record date that I can’t list them all, but I especially want to cite my mother, Eva S. Hoggard, who played Christmas tunes on the piano and organ at family events all year long, and my father, Bishop J. Clinton Hoggard, who taught my brother Paul and me the reason for the season."
