(WTNH) - Grayson Hugh is doing a concert Sat. April 9th at The Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (The Kate) in Old Saybrook, Ct. 8 pm. Tickets are $20. This concert kicks off a new chapter of Grayson's return to the stage and the spotlight after more than fifteen years. Performing with Grayson is former Eight To The Bar singer Polly Messer. Polly was Grayson's backup singer in the eighties, before he moved to New York and got signed to RCA - and had stayed friends. In 2006 she wrote a letter to his brother - not knowing he was living on Cape Cod. When she found out he was making a new record, she offered to sing on it! One harmony led to another and they were married in August 2008. They ended up co-producing "An American Record".
The concert at The Kate, and the release of "An American Record" mark a return to the public eye and ear after a silence of more than fifteen years. Grayson is happy to kick off this new chapter of his performing career in his home state of Connecticut. He is also booked to do shows in New York, beginning with an April 1st show at Hill Country, 30 West 26th Street, New York, N.Y.
