(WTNH) -- 2012 marks the 9th Annual Make-A-Wish Connecticut's "Sunflowers for Wishes."
Folks can take hayrides through fields of over 400,000 sunflowers, as well as bouquets of sunflowers, t-shirts and other items at Buttonwood Farms to benefit Make-A-Wish Connecticut.
To date, "Sunflowers for Wishes" has raised over $500,000 for Make-A-Wish Connecticut and its mission to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
"Sunflowers for Wishes" is a unique event in that it brings families together during the summer to enjoy a beautiful view and the outdoors, spend quality time together, and help make wishes come true for Connecticut children battling a life-threatening medical condition. Run completely by Duane Button (owner of Buttonwood Farms), his family and a crew of volunteers, it is truly a family and community-supported event that attracts supporters from all over Connecticut and New England.
The 9-day fundraising event is culminated on July 21st when Duane Button and his family invite wish families back to the farm for a day of celebration, ice cream, hayrides, and an unveiling of the year's success - a wonderful way to bring our mission and our families together at the end of an incredible and generous week.
