(WTNH) -- The 48 Hour Film Project is coming back to New Haven.
The 48HFP will have filmmakers rushing around New Haven creating 4-7 minute films in only 48 hours. On Friday night each team gets the character, prop and line of dialogue they must use. Then they pick a film genre out of a hat and they're off movie making!
To enter, sign up online at http://www.48hourfilm.com/en/newhaven/ You can also just sign up to become part of a team if you are unable to create your own.
New Haven's filming weekend is Friday July 27 - Sunday July 29, 2012. Films will be screened the following week Thursday August 2, 2012 at the Whitney Humanities Center.
The 48 Hour Film Project is the largest timed film competition in the world. It's been going for 12 years and is international. This year, 125 cities are participating.
Each city's winner will have their film shown at the annual Filmapalooza to compete for the best overall. This year Filmapalooza will be held in Hollywood.
Several of the best 48 Hr films go to the Cannes Film Festival each year.
