(WTNH) - Tree of Compassion 5k Road Race supports two good causes.
December 4, 2011 marks the 2nd annual Tree of Compassion 5K Road Race.
The race starts at Pomperaug High School in Southbury at 10am. Registration will run from 7:30am-9:30am, but pre race day registration is encouraged. Registration day of race will go up to $40 per person.
After the race, there will be a reception in the PHS cafeteria. A DJ will be spinning, food will be served, and raffle prizes are being given away.
The proceeds from the race will go to two charities. One is the Fire Family Transport Fund which transports first responders suffering from the aftermath of 9/11 illness to and from doctors appointments, etc.
The second charity is Hope for the Warriors. This organization transports wounded veterans/soldiers to wherever they need to go after returning home from overseas.
