(WTNH) -- Christy Kovel and William Kovel talk about the annual Alzheimer's Association Walk To End Alzheimer's.
Current research suggests that certain foods may reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, and appear to protect brain cells. The Alzheimer's Association encourages adopting a brain-healthy diet combined with exercise to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Wear purple on September 21, Alzheimer's Action Day, to raise awareness.
The Walk to End Alzheimer's Event for the Alzheimer's Association features five walks on September 29, 30 and Oct 14th. Gil Simmons is the emcee for the New Haven Walk on September 30th at Lighthouse Point Park.
Register for the walk at www.alz.org/ct or call 800-272-3900.
