BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) -- Sunday was Family Day at the Gathering of the Vibes festival in Bridgeport.

The clouds blew out of town, making way for sunshine at the Vibes all weekend long.

The festival started shortly after Grateful Dead front-man Jerry Garcia died back in 1995, as "Deadhead Heaven, The Gathering of the Tribe."

Since then the name has changed and the location has varied, but it's found it's home at Seaside Park in Bridgeport.

Hula Hoops, Frisbee tossing, and puppeteers could be seen in every direction, folks jamming out and plenty for families to do.

"We not only have a kid's corner, but we have a teen scene, and it's great to see these kids inspired with something other than video games," said festival founder Ken Hays.

Vibes is expecting about 15,000 to turn out for Connecticut's largest music festival on Sunday, as kids 15 and younger get in free and Connecticut residents get 50% off admission.
