(WTNH) - There's an important warning for people who take fish oil supplements. According to a new lawsuit, the supplement may contain a cancer-causing toxin known as PCB.
Many people take fish oil because of the health benefits of Omega 3 Fatty Acids.
But, environmental activists tested ten different fish oil supplements and found man-made industrial chemicals -- known as PCBs -- in each and every one of them.
Eight fish oil producers and retailers are now being sued including CVS, GNC and RITE AID.
GNC, now Health Group, Twin Lab and Pharmavite, maker of Nature Made, say all of their fish oil supplements comply with state and federal laws.
