(WTNH) -- Connecticut shoppers looking for the freshest local produce have their choice of farmers' markets across the state.
The state Department of Agriculture says there are more than 100 farmers' markets statewide, and they make it easy to find the one near you with a handy 18-page 2012 Certified Farmers' Markets .pdf.
You can see what's available county by county, when markets are open, and it even has links to specific markets' websites, such as the Monroe Farmers' Market or the Durham Farmers' Market . The brochure also tells you if the markets accept WIC checks.
If you're into organic farm produce you're also in luck. The Connecticut Chapter of the Northeast Organic Farming Association , also known as CTNOFA , lists the farmers' markets that feature organic produce .
