Hamden, Conn. (WTNH) - People looking for work have at least three opportunities today to apply for jobs.

First Student is recruiting folks to drive school buses. The bus company needs to fill more than 50 part-time positions. Those drivers will work in Hamden, New Haven, Clinton and Branford.

The job fair held on Apr.19, ran from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 at the CT Works Center in Hamden. It's located at 37 Marne Street. Link

"A lot of good possibilities today, very positive people," says Tahshera Delain of First Student. "We look for people that's looking for safety because we're carrying precious cargo, so I look for that, it's very important."

McDonalds is hiring 1,300 employees for stores in Connecticut. The one-day hiring event is part if a nationwide initiative to hire 50- thousand across the U.S.

About 250 people showed up to one North Branford McDonalds, looking for a job.

Any store is accepting applications, but the Corbin's Corner location in New Britain will also be holding free professional seminars for job hunters. The first session runs from 11:00 a.m. until Noon. The second runs from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Link

And for members of the military, Heroes 4 Hire is holding a job fair. It runs from 11:00 a.m. 'til 3:00 3:00 p.m. at Rentschler Field, 615 Silver Lane, in East Hartford. Link

For those who didn't make to the job fairs, applications are being accepted online.
