UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — The new chief executive at Mohegan Sun says he is honored to be the first Mohegan tribal member to hold the top post at the casino.

Bobby Soper began work this week as the fourth chief executive in the 16-year history of the casino.

He said in an interview with The Day of New London that he is adjusting to the size of the casino after recently leaving his position as president of Mohegan's smaller sister property in Pennsylvania, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

Soper is a 40-year-old native of Atlanta. He worked earlier in his career as Mohegan Sun's chief legal officer and senior vice president of administration.

Mohegan Sun's executive vice president and chief operating officer, Ray Pineault, is also a tribal member.
