58-year-old pedestrian hit and killed

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 58-year-old man died over the weekend after he was hit by a car.

On Nov. 17 around 9:45 p.m. police responded to the report of a pedestrian struck near Whiney Avenue and Home Place.

Officer found Manuel Jesus Bonete-Canar of Meriden lying in the road upon arrival.

Bonete-Canar died at Yale-New Haven Hospital after the incident.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Leonard Wisneski, 73, of Hamden.
