- Army Pfc. David R. Fahey Jr., 23, of Norwalk, Conn., died Feb. 28, 2011, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. Fahey was assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
- Sgt. 1st Class Daehan Park, 36, of Watertown, Conn. died March 12, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
- U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Frank Edward Adamski III, 26, of Plainfield, died March 29, 2011 of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in Konar province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) based out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
- Maj. Raymond G. Estelle II, 40, of New Haven, died April 27, 2011. He was one of 9 Americans killed by an Afghan pilot at Kabul International Airport. He was assigned to Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va.
- Army Specialist Richard Charlton Emmons III, 22, of North Granby, was killed May 31, 2011, when the vehicle he was driving was hit by a rocket probelled grenade in Logar Province, Afghanistan. He was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Polk, Louisiana.
- Pfc. Eric D. Soufrine, 20, of Woodbridge, Conn., died June 14 in Farah province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.
- Chief Petty Officer Brian Robert Bill, 31, of Virginia, was killed in action on August 6, 2011 in Wardak province, eastern Afghanistan. Born August 23, 1979 in Stamford, Connecticut.
- Sgt. Edward J. Frank II, 26, of Yonkers, N.Y., was killed in action August 11, 2011 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y. Born in Hartford, Connecticut.
