MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut state police say a $2,500 reward is now being offered for information leading to arrests and convictions in connection with dozens of intentionally set brush fires in the southern part of the state.
State police say the fires began last October and the most recent ones were last week. Many of the fires have occurred simultaneously.
Many of the fires have been along roads leading from Route 1 to Route 34 in Orange, along Route 34 from Orange to Oxford and on the side of Route 110 from Shelton to Monroe. There have also been several fires near Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford.
State police and fire and police officials in several towns are investigating.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to call state police.
