(WTNH) -- After strong storms knocked out power to tens of thousands of customers, the cleanup continues.
5,841 Connecticut Light & Power customers didn't have electricity as of 6:40 p.m. 59 percent of the town of Scotland was still without power.
The storm snapped branches and knocked trees into power lines. Hail hit homes and cars.
The bad weather also forced changes to the Travelers Championship golf tournament. Many players didn't get to their second round, so played early today and saw who could make the cut. The golf started at 7:30 a.m.
Much cooler temperatures are expected for the weekend, and next week high temperatures will be in the 70's.
