Cooling Centers across Connecticut

New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - The heat wave continues Wednesday and there are cooling centers opened all across the state for people looking for relief.

"The temperatures are dangerously high," said Storm Team 8's Gil Simmons.

And the humidity is going to be even higher today than yesterday. Click here to see the complete forecast.

Cooling Centers will be open in some towns if people need a place to cool off. The list below will be updated as we get more listings:

Branford: Blackstone Memorial Library, Willoughby Memorial Library, Canoe Brook Senior Center, Community Center

Danbury: Veterans Hall, Hatters Park Hall, until 4pm

Darien: YWCA, 49 Old Kings Hwy N, until 4pm

East Hartford: South End Senior Center, Library, Town Hall, Public Safety Complex

East Haven: East Haven Senior Center, 71 Taylor Ave., until 6pm

Hartford: Parker Community Center, Pope Park Rec Center, Metzner Center, North End Senior Center, South End Senior Center, Parkville Senior Center, Hispanic Senior Center

Ledyard: Ledyard Senior Center, 12 Vantassel Drive, Gales Ferry, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Middletown: Middletown High School, 200 LaRosa Lane, 9am-9pm

New Haven: Open for seniors from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Atwater Senior Center at 26 Atwater Street
  • Dixwell/Newhallville Senior Center at 255 Goffe Street
  • East Shore Senior Center at 411 Townsend Avenue

For the general public:

  • Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School, 150 Kimberly Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Norwalk: City Hall, Library, South Norwalk Library, Rowayton Library, East Norwalk Library, Norwalk Senior Center
