Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - Some 'Connecticut-based' troops are about to leave for a second tour of duty in Southeast Asia.
The Connecticut National Guard's 247th engineer detachment, has been mobilized for deployment Saturday.
The unit will first head to Camp Shelby in Mississippi, before traveling overseas. This tour of duty is in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The 247th specializes in well drilling and heavy equipment operations.
