Southington, Conn. - People in Southington held a Valentine's Dance earlier this evening to help raise money for the recovery of Corporal Marine Greg Caron, who was seriously injured while serving in Afghanistan. He was struck by an IED and lost both his legs. He and his wife Nina had not been married for even a year when the tragedy happened.
"This young man really has given so much and he is not only a symbol but he is a model of what we can do in Connecticut" said Senator Richard Blumenthal.
All the proceeds of tonight's dance went to The Greg Caron Foundation. If you would like to donate, contact Barbara Pasha, president of the American Legion Auxiliary Kiltonic Unit 72 at 860-621-4243 or at 64 Main Street in Southington, 06489.
