(WTNH) --Military heroes of the past and present can be honored this Memorial day at one of the many celebrations taking pace throughout Connecticut.

The town of Orange will hold it's Memorial Day parade on Sunday, May 27, starting at 10:30 a. m. Retired Lieutenant Colonel James White, who served in the Korean War, will be the Grand Marshal for the ceremonies and parade this year.

Veterans of World War II are being honored at the parade, and at a special luncheon later that day.

West Haven's Memorial Day parade is on Memorial Day, Monday May 28, at 10:30 a. m. Korean War veteran Dan Lockery will serve as the parade's Grand Marshal. Lockery is the Commander of the local American Veterans Post in West Haven.
